Well, it didn’t really work. I couldn’t focus fast enough with the manual lens. I am very used to the autofocus, in fact, I use the back-focus on my camera, which is even more efficient. This short video is of my friend and her adorable doggy, Fuge. While they played catch, I took a few photos of Fuge. (I used the Burnside lens for the video as well.)

​This first image I took with the Burnside. Out of a few tries this seemed to be the sharpest on Fuge.
I switched to my Nikon 50mm lens then, and here are my two favorites with it.
I switched back to the Burnside one more time to take a few still images of the surroundings, and I also captured my friend as she tended to her slightly injured puppy.

My conclusion from this very brief photo session is, that you need a lot of practice for focusing a manual lens on a fast moving object, like a running animal. Many can do it, but it’s hard for me. I prefer to use the Burnside 35 on still subjects.
