Welcome to my August 1st Lensbaby Blog Circle post, which is a brief insight into the first few days of our annual family visit to Hungary.

My daughter and I arrived after midnight last Thursday, after a long, 26 hour trip (due to flight problems). Late morning on Friday we immediately headed to my brother’s weekend home by Lake Balaton. I took some pictures in his very nicely kept yard (his son was a great helper), at the lake in the morning, and some flowers during my walk. On Saturday we visited an adventure park near the city of Veszprém, where the cousins had a ton of fun playing together in a pond. We also visited another adventure park in Budapest on Tuesday. The following pictures were all taken with Lensbaby lenses, mostly with the Twist 60 and the Double glass. I hope you’ll enjoy a bit of European photography from me.

It was a rather grey, kind of boring morning at Lake Balaton, but I still wanted to include one image of it.

As I walked in a park close to the lookout I noticed thousands of tiny, flying insects. I don’t know what they were, but if you look at the next picture closely you’ll see lots of white spots in it – all insects. We were going to do some yoga practice in this area later in the day, but I really didn’t want to eat or breath in extra protein. 🙂

On the way home I noticed some interesting trees and flowers:

At the adventure park the kids played water games.

On Sunday we took a walk by the lake in Siófok, and found some pretty swans and ducks.

One of the tourist boats just left the harbor and ended up in my image.

The last four pictures were taken in Budapest at an adventure park. The kids enjoyed it very much. It’s a spot that we try to visit every year.

  1. Especially I love the tourist boat with the swans and the darker photo with the hibiscus flower.

We have a tree climbing fun park here as well. I learned to be quiet in the woolds, but the one who want to start has to scream “Bahn frei ? ” and the one before who just get to the other side has to confirm very loud “Bahn frei !!! ” It is lots of fun for those who climb and go through all these challenges, but it is awful for those who want to stay in a quiet forest. But as we see, the children had lots of fun that day!

Thank you for taking me to Hungary.

    Herzliche Grüße
    Birgit

    1. This is a small area in a larger park, and it’s OK to be louder. Despite this it wasn’t loud at all. No-one would go to this area to relax… there are many other places for that. For example an arboretum nearby, where I’d like to go to next week. My daughter and her cousin love this climbing park and I have a lot of fun photographing them there. Thanks for visiting Birgit.

    1. Thanks for visiting Carol. This was just the first 3 days out of the 3 weeks we are visiting my family for. I’m glad I found some topics during that time for the Lensbaby lenses prior to August 1. I seem to be always traveling during our Blog Circle. 🙂

  2. Dear Gizella, I like the most the Lake Ballaton so much. My landscapes withe the double glass are always…., I don’t know, strange. And even people are fine withe the doubles glass… mayby, I have to work on it.
    Greetings Jessica
