After dropping off my daughter at school (she has just started as a Freshman), I headed down to the ocean with my camera to take a walk in one of my favorite beach cities, Laguna Beach.
It was pretty early and the city was not as crowded as I experience it most of the time. I grabbed my Lensbaby Burnside 35 for this short walk, and except for the last image, I kept it on my camera.
I couldn’t walk by this beautiful Lily without snapping a picture of it. Then I headed down to the beach.

I still remember when I first saw this sign on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) right by the main beach. It was the first time I visited an area where tsunamis can occur. Luckily, we live about 25 minutes inland from here.
You know that I visited the beach early by looking at the patterns on the sand, and the empty sand volleyball court. You can be assured that within a couple of hours the beach filled up with beach lovers.
From the beach I headed south a bit on PCH and walked up to the Wyland Gallery (http://www.wylandgalleries.com), a local artist’s gallery. It wasn’t open yet, I just took a picture of the mural on the wall.
From here I walked back towards city center, and I found this cute fairy and this unique bench by the library.
On Forest Avenue I walked by some trendy stores and a Thai massage salon before reaching the Presbyterian Church and the Lumberyard Restaurant.
Laguna Beach operates a free shuttle bus service in the town, and one just drove by the restaurant.
On the way back to my car I stopped at the yellow lily one more time and switched my lens to the Velvet 56. I had to take at least one floral image with that lens. đŸ™‚
This was a short, but very calm walk in a favorite beach city of mine, Laguna Beach, CA.
